What made you want to become a police officer?

The overall desire to help people, no matter the situation, made me want to become a police officer.

Are there other members of your family who work in law enforcement?

No, no one in my family works in law enforcement.

How did you come to choose Prince William County?

I was recruited by First Sergeant Wilson.

What do you like best about working as a Police Officer?

I meet new people every day.

What surprised you most about the job?

The amount of paperwork that has to be done daily was not expected.

What would surprise people about you?

I’m very shy outside of work.

What would you tell people who are thinking of becoming a Police Officer in Prince William County?

It is a great department to be a part of, and the opportunities are endless within the department.

What is the biggest misconception about your job?

The misconception that female officers cannot perform the same duties as male officers still prove to exist.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing the difference I have made in someone’s day or life, and seeing the positive impact that I, as well as my coworkers, are making on our community.

What is your typical day like?

I would not use the word “typical”, but taking calls and interacting with the public as much as I can.

What are some of the things you like to do when you’re not on duty?

I enjoy playing softball, going to the movies, and eating out with friends.
